In the Travel, Science and Natural History auction, the work Scenes in India: Stall holders; A Meat Shop in Peshawur; A Minstrels' Balcony; and A busy street scene sold for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,168.64) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mortimer Luddington Menpes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Benares, Blue Is The Sky in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,189.42).
