In December 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Israeli & International Art, which included the work Judean Hills by Mordecai Ardon. The result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 207,952.09) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mordecai Ardon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Awakening, which sold at auction in December 2014 for USD 821,000.00 (€ 678,456.33).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Israeli & International Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Judean Hills von Mordecai Ardon zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 207.952,09) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mordecai Ardon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Awakening beobachtet, die im Dezember 2014 für USD 821.000,00 (€ 678.456,33) versteigert wurde.
