Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mordecai Ardon could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Gilgal changed hands for USD 113,400.00 (€ 92,996.56) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mordecai Ardon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Awakening in December 2014 with an auction result of USD 821,000.00 (€ 678,456.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mordecai Ardon konnte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Gilgal für USD 113.400,00 (€ 92.996,56) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mordecai Ardon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Awakening im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 821.000,00 (€ 678.456,33).
