Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work When We Are Gone Number 9 by Mohammad Rawas for GBP 10,200.00 (€ 11,999.33). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Mohammad Rawas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Revisiting Picasso's Guernica in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 64,844.37).
