Despite a disappointment, a good price for Miroslav Hák
When the work Street Scene With Laundry, 1930S by Miroslav Hák was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,875.00 (€ 3,476.09). Despite this disappointing result, Street Scene With Laundry, 1930S is the most expensive artwork by Miroslav Hák that we have observed at auction so far.
