Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mike Kelley could be acquired at Phillips in New York in September last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the New Now auction, the work Black Garbage (Grassy Island Canadian); White Garbage (Bob Lo Island) changed hands for USD 13,860.00 (€ 14,167.43) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mike Kelley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Memory Ware Flat 1 in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 3,301,000.00 (€ 2,964,526.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mike Kelley konnte im September letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion New Now wechselte die Arbeit Black Garbage (Grassy Island Canadian); White Garbage (Bob Lo Island) für USD 13.860,00 (€ 14.167,43) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mike Kelley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Memory Ware Flat 1 im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.301.000,00 (€ 2.964.526,27).
