Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Work by Michio Yoshihara was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,505.97). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michio Yoshihara - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Work, which sold at auction in October 2015 for HKD 212,500.00 (€ 24,825.67).
