In May 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work 'Helena Christensen Ii', 1993 by Michel Comte. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,883.58), 32% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michel Comte - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Carla Bruni, 1993, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 91,000.00 (€ 58,453.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Helena Christensen Ii', 1993 von Michel Comte zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.883,58) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Michel Comte mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Carla Bruni, 1993 beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 91.000,00 (€ 58.453,24) versteigert wurde.
