Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2012 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Architecture of Density #39 by Michael Wolf. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,051.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Wolf achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tokyo Compression Revisited, 2012 in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 47,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2012 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Architecture of Density #39 von Michael Wolf zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.051,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Wolf erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tokyo Compression Revisited, 2012 im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 47.500,00.
