This artwork by Michael Taylor achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in May 2005. In the PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION auction, the work Rainbow Hill sold for AUD 5,377.50 (€ 3,305.58) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michael Taylor; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Gulf Waters sold at auction in August 2003 with the realized price of AUD 7,050.00 (€ 4,164.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Michael Taylor erzielte im Mai 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION wurde die Arbeit Rainbow Hill für AUD 5.377,50 (€ 3.305,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Michael Taylor; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Gulf Waters im August 2003 mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 7.050,00 (€ 4.164,80).
