Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Young Explorers by Michael Taylor was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 239.00 (€ 139.21). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Taylor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gulf Waters in August 2003 with an auction result of AUD 7,050.00 (€ 4,164.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Young Explorers von Michael Taylor im November 2004 bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 239,00 (€ 139,21) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Taylor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gulf Waters im August 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 7.050,00 (€ 4.164,80).
