Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cochise Summer 14 x 18 in. framed 20 1/2 x 24 1/2 in. by Michael Stack was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,400.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,280.00 (€ 1,173.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Stack achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Close to Evening in the Gila Valley in August 2021 with an auction result of USD 15,300.00 (€ 12,966.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cochise Summer 14 x 18 in. framed 20 1/2 x 24 1/2 in. von Michael Stack im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.400,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.280,00 (€ 1.173,45) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Stack erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Close to Evening in the Gila Valley im August 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.300,00 (€ 12.966,10).
