In August 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work New Zealander Atarangi #1 by Michael Parekowhai. The result of AUD 6,000.00 (€ 3,527.52) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Michael Parekowhai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work New Zealander Kapa Haka (Whero) in August 2009 with an auction result of AUD 36,000.00 (€ 21,165.11).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im August 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit New Zealander Atarangi #1 von Michael Parekowhai zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von AUD 6.000,00 (€ 3.527,52) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael Parekowhai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit New Zealander Kapa Haka (Whero) im August 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 36.000,00 (€ 21.165,11).
