Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2014 Christies in London held the auction Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work Warwickshire Hunt, near Hidcot; The Quorn, New Plantation, away from Scraptoft Gorse; and Two mares and foals by Michael Lyne. The price achieved of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,891.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Lyne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The End Of The Day in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 24,675.00 (€ 29,118.48).
