Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Ratcliffe Power Station by Michael Kenna. It changed hands for a price of USD 8,820.00 (€ 8,370.50) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Other works by Michael Kenna have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2020 the work Six works: Kussharo Lake Tree; Incense Holders; Dusk Island Shrine; Island Shrine; Hashikui Rocks; Tree and Mountain was auctioned for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,242.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ratcliffe Power Station von Michael Kenna zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 8.820,00 (€ 8.370,50) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Michael Kenna konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Dezember 2020 die Arbeit Six works: Kussharo Lake Tree; Incense Holders; Dusk Island Shrine; Island Shrine; Hashikui Rocks; Tree and Mountain für USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.242,85) versteigert.
