Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work 104 Birds, Prague, Czechoslovakia by Michael Kenna for USD 768.00 (€ 671.21). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Photographs at Bonhams in Skinner Boston and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Kenna achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Six works: Kussharo Lake Tree; Incense Holders; Dusk Island Shrine; Island Shrine; Hashikui Rocks; Tree and Mountain in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,242.85).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Photographs bei Bonhams in Skinner Boston erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Kenna erzielen.
