The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,233.78), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Michael Dahl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Double Portrait Of A Lady And A Gentleman in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 63,301.14).

Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, traditionally identified as Elizabeth Felton, Lady Hervey (1676-1741), bust-length, in a blue dress and mantle, feigned oval von Michael Dahl wurde im Dezember 2011 in der Auktion Old Masters and British Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.233,78) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael Dahl auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Double Portrait Of A Lady And A Gentleman im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 63.301,14).
