The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,860.00 (€ 16,170.42), 39% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Dahl - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Double Portrait Of A Lady And A Gentleman, which sold at auction in December 2017 for GBP 56,250.00 (€ 63,301.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Colonel Daniel Parke (1664/5-1710), aide-de-camp to the 1st Duke of Marlborough, bust-length, in armour, with a miniature portrait of Queen Anne von Michael Dahl wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Old Masters Part II bei Christies versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.860,00 (€ 16.170,42) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Dahl mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Double Portrait Of A Lady And A Gentleman beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für GBP 56.250,00 (€ 63.301,14) versteigert wurde.
