Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Michael Canney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in March this year. In the British. Cool. auction, the work System with Circles No 3, 1981 sold for GBP 9,562.50 (€ 10,879.19) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Canney - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Offshore Islands, which sold at auction in November 2011 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,184.94).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Michael Canney erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British. Cool. wurde die Arbeit System with Circles No 3, 1981 für GBP 9.562,50 (€ 10.879,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Canney mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Offshore Islands beobachtet, die im November 2011 für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 29.184,94) versteigert wurde.
