A top price for Michael Canney
When the work Offshore Islands by Michael Canney was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2011, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 8,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,184.94). This high result makes Offshore Islands the most expensive artwork by Michael Canney that we have observed at auctions so far.
