Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Opera by Miao Xiaochun was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 840.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Miao Xiaochun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carrying The Cross (Set Of Eighteen) in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 42,249.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Opera von Miao Xiaochun im November 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.000,00 (€ 840,48) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Miao Xiaochun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Carrying The Cross (Set Of Eighteen) im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 42.249,37).
