Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Merry-Joseph Blondel could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction, the work Portrait Of A Man changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,308.58) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Merry-Joseph Blondel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a lady, seated in a landscape, in a white dress holding a straw hat in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 70,278.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Merry-Joseph Blondel konnte im Januar 2010 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art wechselte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Man für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.308,58) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Merry-Joseph Blondel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, seated in a landscape, in a white dress holding a straw hat im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 96.000,00 (€ 70.278,18).
