Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The cherry picker; and Girl with a gold pendant by Merry-Joseph Blondel was sold in the Nineteenth Century European Art auction at Christies in London in March 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,140.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Merry-Joseph Blondel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a lady, seated in a landscape, in a white dress holding a straw hat in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 70,278.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The cherry picker; and Girl with a gold pendant von Merry-Joseph Blondel wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.140,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Merry-Joseph Blondel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, seated in a landscape, in a white dress holding a straw hat im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 96.000,00 (€ 70.278,18).
