Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portraits De Deux Enfants Dans Un Intérieur De Style Empire by Merry-Joseph Blondel was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 11,875.00. Admittedly, works by Merry-Joseph Blondel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a lady, seated in a landscape, in a white dress holding a straw hat in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 70,278.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portraits De Deux Enfants Dans Un Intérieur De Style Empire von Merry-Joseph Blondel im Juni 2014 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 11.875,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Merry-Joseph Blondel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, seated in a landscape, in a white dress holding a straw hat im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 96.000,00 (€ 70.278,18).
