This artwork by Medardo Rosso achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2003. In the Impressionist and Modern Art auction, the work Gavroche sold for USD 5,377.50 (€ 4,988.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Medardo Rosso achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Enfant Juif in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 341,000.00 (€ 476,973.83).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Medardo Rosso erzielte im Februar 2003 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Gavroche für USD 5.377,50 (€ 4.988,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Medardo Rosso erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Enfant Juif im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 341.000,00 (€ 476.973,83).
