The work The Liar by Maynard Dixon was auctioned at Christies in New York in April this year. It achieved a price of USD 30,240.00 (€ 27,391.30), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maynard Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pony Boy in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 1,326,000.00 (€ 1,562,573.65).

Die Arbeit The Liar von Maynard Dixon kam im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 27.391,30) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 68%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maynard Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pony Boy im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.326.000,00 (€ 1.562.573,65).
