Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Western Art, which included the work Old Adobe of Phoenix by Maynard Dixon. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,120.00 (€ 4,693.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maynard Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pony Boy in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 1,326,000.00 (€ 1,562,573.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Old Adobe of Phoenix von Maynard Dixon zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.120,00 (€ 4.693,80) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maynard Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pony Boy im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.326.000,00 (€ 1.562.573,65).
