Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction Western Art, which included the work You'll Have to Grow Wings to Catch Me and Red Eagle by Maynard Dixon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,500.00 (€ 23,097.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maynard Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pony Boy in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 1,326,000.00 (€ 1,562,573.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit You'll Have to Grow Wings to Catch Me and Red Eagle von Maynard Dixon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 25.500,00 (€ 23.097,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maynard Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pony Boy im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.326.000,00 (€ 1.562.573,65).
