Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Maxim Kantor could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Russian Paintings auction, the work Stray Dog changed hands for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,670.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Maxim Kantor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Cedar and Man in July this year with an auction result of GBP 139,700.00 (€ 162,987.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Maxim Kantor konnte im November 2008 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Russian Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Stray Dog für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 22.670,16) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maxim Kantor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Cedar and Man im Juli diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 139.700,00 (€ 162.987,56).
