Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Map of Europe by Maxim Kantor was sold in the Russian Art auction at Christies in London in June 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 3,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 30,008.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Maxim Kantor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Cedar and Man in July this year with an auction result of GBP 139,700.00 (€ 162,987.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Map of Europe von Maxim Kantor wurde im Juni 2016 in der Auktion Russian Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 30.008,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maxim Kantor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Cedar and Man im Juli diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 139.700,00 (€ 162.987,56).
