Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of Pope John-Paul Ii by Maxim Kantor for GBP 37,250.00 (€ 45,038.05). This price was achieved in the auction Russian Paintings at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 45,000.00 – 65,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maxim Kantor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Cedar and Man, which sold at auction in July this year for GBP 139,700.00 (€ 162,987.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait Of Pope John-Paul Ii von Maxim Kantor für GBP 37.250,00 (€ 45.038,05) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Russian Paintings bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 45.000,00 – 65.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Maxim Kantor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Cedar and Man beobachtet, die im Juli diesen Jahres für GBP 139.700,00 (€ 162.987,56) versteigert wurde.
