Estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2014 VAN HAM held the auction Alte Kunst, which included the work Am Waldrand by Max Schmidt. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 5,805.00 16% above the estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Max Schmidt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ansicht von Kairo, im Vordergrund ruhende Araber, which sold at auction in October 2008 for EUR 15,860.00.
Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2014 führte VAN HAM die Auktion Alte Kunst durch, in der auch die Arbeit Am Waldrand von Max Schmidt zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 5.805,00 und damit 16% über dem Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Max Schmidt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ansicht von Kairo, im Vordergrund ruhende Araber beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für EUR 15.860,00 versteigert wurde.
