Auction result well in line with expectations
The work German Damascus by Max Schmidt was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2009. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,471.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Max Schmidt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ansicht von Kairo, im Vordergrund ruhende Araber, which sold at auction in October 2008 for EUR 15,860.00.
