The result of EUR 2,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthieu Wiegman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Avondlandschap met geitjes in November 2005 with an auction result of EUR 24,000.00.

Die Arbeit Red roses in an earthenware vase von Matthieu Wiegman kam im September 2009 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 2.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthieu Wiegman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Avondlandschap met geitjes im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 24.000,00.
