In January 2006 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Montparnasse by Matthieu Wiegman. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,240.00 62% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Matthieu Wiegman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Avondlandschap met geitjes in November 2005 with an auction result of EUR 24,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 62 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2006 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Montparnasse von Matthieu Wiegman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.240,00 und damit 62% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matthieu Wiegman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Avondlandschap met geitjes im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 24.000,00.
