The work Yellow Brick Road by Matthew Wong was sold in the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale: Worlds In A Hand auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2021. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 29,050,000.00 (€ 3,290,519.53), 61% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Matthew Wong; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Night Watcher sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of USD 5,897,150.00 (€ 5,495,433.79).

Die Arbeit Yellow Brick Road von Matthew Wong wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale: Worlds In A Hand bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 29.050.000,00 (€ 3.290.519,53) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Matthew Wong; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Night Watcher im Mai letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 5.897.150,00 (€ 5.495.433,79).
