This artwork by Matt Mullican achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2020. In the Christie's 100 auction, the work without title sold for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,936.51) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Matt Mullican have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 37,817.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Matt Mullican erzielte im Februar 2020 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's 100 wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.936,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matt Mullican auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.600,00 (€ 37.817,22).
