Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Online | New York, which included the work Untitled 6 Prints by Mathias Goeritz. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,896.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mathias Goeritz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mensaje in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 466,000.00 (€ 441,204.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled 6 Prints von Mathias Goeritz zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.896,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mathias Goeritz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mensaje im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 466.000,00 (€ 441.204,32).
