It achieved a price of USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,480.29), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 31%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maruyama Oshin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flowers and grasses of the four seasons, which sold at auction in March 2012 for USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,374.53).

Die Arbeit Red Parrot on Perch von Maruyama Oshin wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.480,29) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 31%. Für andere Arbeiten von Maruyama Oshin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flowers and grasses of the four seasons beobachtet, die im März 2012 für USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.374,53) versteigert wurde.
