A top price for Maruyama Oshin - as previously expected
The work Flowers and grasses of the four seasons by Maruyama Oshin was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,374.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Flowers and grasses of the four seasons is the most expensive artwork by Maruyama Oshin that we have observed at auctions so far.
