In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Pictures, which included the work High Water At Tilbury, The Arrival of The Orient Pacific Liner Omrah, 1905 by Martyn Richardson Mackrill. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,379.02) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Martyn Richardson Mackrill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Valkyrie (III) leading His Majesty's yacht Britannia off Hunter's Quay, during the Clyde Regatta, 1895 in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 39,444.68).
