This artwork by Martyn Richardson Mackrill achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October last year. In the The Marine Sale auction, the work The Rivals; Racing off Dartmouth, a pair each 25.1 x 35.3cm (9 7/8 x 13 7/8in). (2) sold for GBP 1,657.50 (€ 1,930.97) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martyn Richardson Mackrill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Valkyrie (III) leading His Majesty's yacht Britannia off Hunter's Quay, during the Clyde Regatta, 1895 in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 39,444.68).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Martyn Richardson Mackrill erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Marine Sale wurde die Arbeit The Rivals; Racing off Dartmouth, a pair each 25.1 x 35.3cm (9 7/8 x 13 7/8in).
