Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Phillips in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work The Phone Book by Martin Parr. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,554.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Martin Parr have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Last Resort, 1983-86 in April 2021 with an auction result of GBP 21,420.00 (€ 24,639.23).
