Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Timber Wolves by Martin Grelle was sold in the Visions of the West: American Paintings from the William I. Koch Collection auction at Christies in New York in May 2015. Here, the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 75,000.00 (€ 68,219.03). Admittedly, works by Martin Grelle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The River's Gift in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 300,506.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Timber Wolves von Martin Grelle wurde im Mai 2015 in der Auktion Visions of the West: American Paintings from the William I. Koch Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 75.000,00 (€ 68.219,03) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Grelle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The River's Gift im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 300.506,57).
