Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Stolen by Martin Grelle was sold in the Visions of the West: American Paintings from the William I. Koch Collection auction at Christies in New York in May 2015. The price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 34,109.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Martin Grelle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The River's Gift in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 300,506.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Stolen von Martin Grelle wurde im Mai 2015 in der Auktion Visions of the West: American Paintings from the William I. Koch Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 34.109,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Grelle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The River's Gift im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 300.506,57).
