Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Visions of the West: American Paintings from the William I. Koch Collection, which included the work One Man's Treasure by Martin Grelle. The price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,780.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Grelle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The River's Gift in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 300,506.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Visions of the West: American Paintings from the William I. Koch Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit One Man's Treasure von Martin Grelle zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.780,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Grelle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The River's Gift im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 300.506,57).
