The »bidding war« ended at CHF 27,720.00 (€ 25,284.44), 39% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Martin Disler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Preparing for Tonight in May last year with an auction result of USD 176,400.00 (€ 164,383.56).

Die Arbeit Listening to the Goddess, 1984 von Martin Disler wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion The Swiss Fine Art Sale bei Sothebys in Zürich versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von CHF 27.720,00 (€ 25.284,44) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Disler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Preparing for Tonight im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 176.400,00 (€ 164.383,56).
