Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mark Tobey could be acquired at Phillips in New York in June this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Renaissance of a Flower; Paean; and Of Time and Age changed hands for USD 1,080.00 (€ 989.01) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Tobey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Autumnal Fire in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 1,389,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mark Tobey konnte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wechselte die Arbeit Renaissance of a Flower; Paean; and Of Time and Age für USD 1.080,00 (€ 989,01) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Tobey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Autumnal Fire im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.389.000,00.
