This artwork by Mark Stoddart achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2017. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Hippo 'The Lad' Coffee Table sold for GBP 9,000.00 (€ 10,210.62) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mark Stoddart; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Hippo & Baby Coffee Table 2001 sold at auction in September 2019 with the realized price of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,399.53).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mark Stoddart erzielte im September 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in Britain wurde die Arbeit Hippo 'The Lad' Coffee Table für GBP 9.000,00 (€ 10.210,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Mark Stoddart; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Hippo & Baby Coffee Table 2001 im September 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.399,53).
