This artwork by Mark Stoddart achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2020. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Childhood Coffee Table sold for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,586.30) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mark Stoddart; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Hippo & Baby Coffee Table 2001 sold at auction in September 2019 with the realized price of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,399.53).
